Real Estate SEO
Effective Real Estate SEO techniques can build your business using keywords with high frequency traffic demand. The way people find real estate agents is changing.
People used to find Real Estate agents by:
- newspaper ads,
- personal referral,
- neighborhood farming,
- community networking, and
- Yellow pages ads.
These are traditional time honored approaches that still work, but less well than they used to because our society has changed.
Today your advertising needs to be where your clients are:
- We live in a mobile society. People go to where the jobs are so community ties and networks are not as strong.
- Technology has changed how we search for information and solutions. The World Wide Web in many ways transcends the former community networks. When people want information, products and services they are much more likely to turn to the search engines than ever before.
This may sound like a convincing argument for developing an effective website presence but.... Does it really work effectively in local real estate markets?
The experience of our clients is very clear. Even if the real estate market is going through a “slower” period, some people are still buying and selling houses. These buyers and sellers could be your clients if you can effectively reach them.
What our clients say-
Hey Georgia,
I tried all the internet so called guru's until I ran across Chet, (Bullseyefind.) They knew what they were doing, and could prove it with another realtor in my market also. I had done enough research so I knew the real thing when it showed up. Of course I had paid to know what is real or bogus. But Chet (Bullseyefind) has made me a believer. I first started with him in June of 06 and by November I was showing up on the first pages of Google for many search terms. Good terms, like Charlotte real estate, Charlotte homes, etc.
He just redid my site and we went live on May 9, 07 so I lost a little ranking, but am still on the first and second page for the best key words. Soon I'll be back to the top 2 or 3 but still I'm getting about 80 leads each week. It seems about 1 of 15 are this year interested and I have started farming them out in my firm. We’ll see how it goes. I hope to start a team soon. Call Bullseyefind at 704-966-6006 or 704-944-5525. I've cc'd his email to this so he'll know about you some.

In changing market conditions the businesses which survive find ways to adapt to new circumstances and keep growing.
Our recommendations:
- Develop an effective web site which serves your customers with quality web site content, information about the current housing market, the pros and cons of communities they are considering and your particular services and approach. Let your website impress your potential clients with your knowledge, and your commitment to serve their needs.
- Then apply SEO basics, or search engine optimization to your web site.
- The following discussion on keywords can be helpful in getting started
Generating Real Estate SEO Keywords List
The basic real estate SEO keywords are very similar from town to town or city to city. Usually the most popular keywords will be the name of the city followed by the word real estate:
- Charlotte Real Estate
- Charlotte NC Real Estate
- Charlotte North Carolina Real Estate
Our experience suggests that the name of the city first and the word “real estate” second has more traffic than the other way around.
- Charlotte Real Estate gets more searches than
- Real Estate Charlotte
However, even the “Real Estate Charlotte” keyword gets enough traffic to make it worthwhile to optimize.
Generic Real Estate SEO Keyword Template
A generic real estate SEO list (where “City” is the name of your city and “ST” is the two letter abbreviation for your state and “State” is the name of your state spelled out) might look like this:
| City |
City ST MLS Real Estate |
| City affordable homes |
City ST real estate |
| City beach front property |
City ST Real Estate Agent |
| City equestrian properties |
City ST Real Estate for Sale |
| City Estate for sale |

Of course if you are specializing in a particular kind of real estate sales that you will want to emphasize those keywords. For example, Lake front houses or Mountain Views, or golf course homes, or horse farms. Such keywords will have less traffic, of course, but the viewers that do type in those keywords are much more targeted for that keyword, and therefore more likely to click through to your site.Obviously this is not a complete or exhaustive list, and will vary from area to area depending on the geographic and climatic conditions of your area. In general, any words with the name of your city along with words having to do with real estate will be potential keywords to optimize. Be aware that each one of these is a separate keyword that can be optimized. In every case it's important to do a keyword frequency analysis.
Choosing Real Estate SEO Keywords
Once a list of keywords is generated for a particular city we always do a keyword frequency or keyword traffic analysis to see which keywords are in most demand.
Effective keyword selection means analyzing and choosing the keywords that:
- Express the uniqueness of your geographic area,
- Are most relevant to your business (your real estate specialty)
- Reflect the keyword frequency search patterns for your area
- With the highest keyword traffic demand
- With only reasonable usage by your competitors (reasonable is evaluated in the context of the market you are trying to win.)
When skillfully done, SEO brings your web site to the first page ranking of the major search engines. Without first page ranking you may have a great web site but no traffic, no customers.
